Dear Diary,
I think the way kids worry about looks in high school is very strange. I think most kids put way too much importance into their outer beauty, which is quite interesting. I used to be very focused on my outward appearance, until one day I realized how annoying it was. No one will remember how great your hair looked way down the road; people are going to remember the kind of person you were. I try to remember this as I start to freak out over something superficial, such as how clear my skin is. There are so many more things to worry about than how good you look, and I wish more kids would realize this. Of course, keep yourself as what you see as “pulled together”, but I think teenagers need to focus on how they act as a person, rather than how attractive others think they look.
