Dear Diary,
Today in Mr. Milbrandt’s class, he gave us an option to either select a new prompt for today of to simply retype on of the previous five, but something really caught my eye. One of the new prompts that were available for us was to (figuratively) voice our thoughts on the question, “is there anything in my life that I wish I would have done differently?” and immediately after scanning the board and seeing this, a million things came into my mind that I could possibly write on.
Unlike many others—easily able to pinpoint a specific event to carry out differently—I would have changed quite a few things out of all of these events, only maybe one or two of them were issues or unpleasant occurrences were caused by issues that were caused by myself. The remainder and the majority of these situations are the effects of other’s mistakes or poor decisions. If I could choose one single aspect of the life to alter, it would be my upbringing. If I had my own way, I would have been born into a family where drug and alcohol abuse wasn't a pressing issue and where stability existed. If I had my way, I would have grown up with my mom and dad in a big happy family and live in a home full of love and comfort, but some things cannot be changed.
