Dear Diary,
Yesterday was my very first swim meet of the year. All of my friends are on varsity but I suck so I’m alone on JV. Anyway, I was kind of nervous for the meet since we have not had a lot of time to practice this season. At the swim meet I found out that I was in the Medley Relay, and I was going first. This was not the problem. The problem was that I had to swim backstroke. Anyone who knows me can advocate for the fact that I have zero sense of direction, and even when I can see where I’m swimming, my path is in no way, shape, or form, a straight line. So, I’m warming up and practicing my backstroke dive and every single time I go straight to the bottom. Long story short, our relay team ended up getting first place but I can say for sure that it wasn't not because of my backstroking skills.
I’m hoping that swim season ends well for the whole team. Even though I’m not on varsity, I’m trying to use this year as training to get better for the next water polo season. I also got first place in the individual medley, so I guess winning on JV is as good as losing on varsity. I’ll just be grateful that I get to take it easy this season.
