Dear Diary,
Some would say it is a tragedy if one’s life were to be cut short, but what’s far more tragic is one who has lived for what may seem forever, yet has not truly lived. Through the poem Moment, this has become clear. A long life is worthless if nothing of significance is done within that lifetime. One may live longer, yet leave nothing to say that their life made a difference, while another may have lived a short life, but within their lifespan changed everything. To be like fire, lightning, and thunder would be short-lived, sure, but within those few moments, one would leave a lasting imprint, and live forever in the hearts and memories of those touched by that their presence. It may even be painful too, but at least with pain, you know you can feel unlike the cold stone. Though stone may seem set, even it slowly breaks away and erodes to sand while no one even notices. Living in the moment may seem juvenile, and even foolish, but it is empowering; it is how life should be lived.
