Dear Diary,
I don’t know what my life would be like if my dad hadn’t sacrificed his dream for our family. My mom didn’t give up her dream; she wanted to be a vet ever since she was little. But she does make most of the money so that we can keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. She gets up at 5:00 in the morning to get ready for work and for me to get ready for school. Then she has to drive out all the way to Pasadena and drive back from work, getting home at 7. I’m so thankful for her hard work and determination that has gotten me to where I am today.
My dad however did have a dream that he was never able to fulfill. He had a love for cooking, and he was really good at it. He won many awards at the fair and other baking competitions. But when he settled down and had me and my brothers to take care of, he couldn’t go to cooking school. He didn’t go to college, so he didn’t get many job opportunities. He started working night shifts at Target. He worked there for a while, but he recently got a job at a warehouse for Disney. He’s really enjoying it, and we get to go to Disneyland once a month which is a plus. I’m so glad that he got a job that he really likes, but I still feel bad that he never got the chance to pursue his dream. But it all worked out in the end.
