Dear Diary
I was heading into my 2nd quarter of 8th grade I was still recovering from an intense knee injury I was just able to start swimming again. As the months went on I healed quickly and joined a water polo club. I decided to end my run with that club. My dad came home one day with a big smile on his. I quickly asked what the smile was for and he told me and good news and he wanted me to sit down. He sat down and told me that the water polo team had reached out to him and wanted me to come out and play for them. I was shocked and had no idea what to expect I was still in 8th grade and was playing with high school kids double my size.
I did really well and the coaches were really happy that I came out. I pushed myself hard to excel at the sport and prove my worth on the team and show the coaches that I belonged there. My freshmen year I was so overwhelmed with the new pressures of high school and sports that I didn't play at the level I was used to playing at. My sophomore year I came into the season feeling the best I had felt in my whole life and was playing high level water polo. I played on the Varsity squad and in one of our early league games had a bad shoulder injury I couldn't play for a little over a month. I came but had to play JV for a while because someone had taken my spot on Varsity. At first I was upset but I was still grateful to be playing at all especially after the injury. I was the JV team captain and lead our team to an undefeated season. I am proud to say I am a water polo player and wouldn't change that for the world and can't wait to see how our team will grow.
